Resolutions

res-o-lu-tion (rez uh lue'shuhn) n.
1. a formal expression of opinion or intention made, usu. after voting, by a formal organization, a legislature, a club, or other group.
2. a resolve or determination.
3. the act of resolving or determining upon a course of action, method, procedure, etc.
4. the resulting state.
5. a solution or settlement of a problem, controversy, etc.

So that's part of the definition of "Resolution". For 2008, I don't really have any resolutions. I never make them since I never keep them and I don't believe in not keeping my word. But, I hope to save some money, lose some weight and eat a little better. Maybe add some exercise in there.

Another Bind-it-all and Cricut Creation

I made this with my Bind-it-all. The "notes" is from the Teardrop cricut cartridge. The paper is from the "everyday" paper stack.

Holiday Memory

I remember one year when I was around 5 or 6 years old my parents took me to the Clock Shop to look around. There was one cuckoo clock that I really wanted but I they said I couldn't have it that day. So, I waited and wished for that cuckoo clock. On Christmas morning I got a really heavy box and when I opened it up there was my cuckoo clock! I still have it even though it's broken :( I used to love making the pine cones go back up to the top of the clock.

Bind-It-All

My first creation with my new Bind-It-All machine. I need to learn how to judge how much will fit on the o-wires but otherwise it came out really good! :)

Holiday Traditions

We don't have many traditions that we follow. Every year we put out the menorah and put up a small tree. We open one present on the first night of Hannukah and one present on Christmas Eve. The rest of the presents (if there are any) are opened on Christmas Day. Stockings are always looked at first thing Christmas morning. I usually work on Christmas day.

New Layouts

Another Cricut creation

My first Cricut layout

This is the first layout I made using the cricut to cut the letters out. It's a picture my mom and me at my cousin's graduation in June, 2007.

Deck of Me Cards

These are some of the cards I've made for Emily Falconbridge's 52 week challenge. You can find it on her blog at: http://embers.typepad.com/e/mini_art_journal_challenge/index.html

My title card:

Week 11: Your initial...The letter that stands for you, for your name...and I am just going to leave it at that!

Week 14: Birds! Birds make me think of freedom, gentleness and innocence. Use imagery, stories, memories, feathers anything at all that comes to mind when you think of a bird.

Week 19: Change. How do you feel about it? What big or little changes have you made? What do you want to change? How do you deal with change?

Week 23: Right now. - I will never be exactly where I am right now again, so I'm going to write a few of my 'right nows' to remember just how I am feeling at this time in my life.

Some Layouts I've made

What brings me joy:
I used cats eye chalks to colour the letters and brakets. The library pocket holds a card listing all the things that bring me joy!
My flower layout is the roses I received for Valentine's Day in 2006. The journalling reads:
Roses are red
Violets are blue
It took me 9 years
to get roses from you.

Epcot:
I used a sizzix flower die to die-cut all the flowers from the pictures and put them on my layout. This is from the Epcot Flower and Garden Festival in 2007.

Altered Paint Cans

Tear Animals

Here are some tear bears and a tear chick that I've made: My first ever tear bear:

Bottle Cap Critters

Here is a butterfly I made from bottle caps:

First Post

Welcome to my blog! I've decided to start posting my scrapbook layouts on here rather than different galleries on the different sites I visit. It will just be easier this way....I think.

I'm new at this so please bear with me.
